He was a Katipunero in the Magdiwang group in Cavite.

During the Filipino-American War, he rose to become one of General Aguinaldo's best generals.

In 1902, he established the Bagong Katipunan, a unit of rebels in Rizal and Bulacan which fought the Americans.

He was killed in an encounter with the Americans on March 28, 1903.

She and her husband Eulalio contributed huge amounts of money to support the Propaganda Movement. They also helped disseminate leaflets, pamphlets, and copies of La Solidaridad.

When her husband was arrested by the Spanish authorities, she refused to name Katipuneros and divulge secrets about the Katipunan, even if doing so would mean her husband's release from prison.

After the death of her husband, she converted theri home into an army headquarters.

She donated the family boat Bulusan to Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. The ship transported Filipino troops to Bicol and Visayas region.

During the Filipino-American War, the Americans deported her whole family to Manila. They also confiscated their properties and turned the house into an army hospital.

In recognition of her valuable services to the Philippines Revolution, General Emilio Aguinaldo named her Madrina-General de las Fuerzas Revolucionarios (Matriarch-General of the Revolutionary Forces) on June 12, 1898.

Ang pagmamalasakit sa kapakanan ng kapwa ay katumbas na rin ng pagmamahal sa sarili at sa Lumikha. (COncern for others is like love for one's self and love of God.)
