The City of Seven Lakes... this is how San Pablo City is popularly known due to the fact that it boasts of its seven lakes – Bunot, Palakpakin, Mohicap, Yambo, Pandin, Calibato, and Sampaloc. Among these the premier and the largest is Sampaloc Lake. Located at the heart of the city, which is 87 km. Southeast of Manila, Sampaloc Lake is believed to be a crater of an extinct volcano, its perimeter being higher than the rest of the city proper. It has an area of 104 hectares and a depth of 28 meters.
A popular spot for locals and tourists alike, it is the best place to unwind and have fun. But San Pablo’s pride and joy suffered a near death experience, and this was what motivated the people to finally see the light and work as one.
