There is nothing like music, fun and dances to bind people together. Celebrations of any kind will not be complete without musical presentations to entertain us. In a world of chaos and pressure to make our lives better, we look for diversion and amusements to drive our worries away. People tend to go to tranquil places to get away from the rigors of hectic life. Since the Philippines is endowed with breathtaking sceneries - both natural and man-made- it is just understandable for people, whether local of foreign, to troop to these places for a reprieve from all the chaos around them.
Nowadays, there sprout another kind of diversion that lures people- festivals. While not really new since there are festivals already held in different parts of the archipelago, these festivals has sprouted in the province of Laguna. While most of them are held in celebration of a municipality’s town fiesta (feast of the patron saint), some are them are held to promote the town’s products.
Celebrations such as these are not easy to hold. Thorough preparation is necessary to ensure the festival’s success. Without the cooperation of the townspeople with the local government, the festival will not successfully materialize. Suffice it is to say, therefore, that holding these festivals are like hitting two birds with one stone- one, it unites people for a common good, and two, it boosts the town’s or city’s tourism which is a great way towards economic development.
This web page is designed especially as a channel to inform the world of what Laguna has to offer- the rich cultural heritage of its people and how its people utilize its resources to glorify the Maker who has showered them with such gifts.
