Lakan and Lakambini Search Highlights Buwan ng Wika
Elegant, poised and pretty delegates in the search for Lakan and Lakambini 2007 highlighted the celebration of Buwan ng Wika. With the theme “Maraming Wika Maunlad na Bansa”, the program was held within the campus of SPCNHS-San Jose Annex, Sept. 8.
The excitement started when the candidates ramped in their regional costumes that revealed their true Filipino beauties. Ric Franco Tolentino of 4-A and Mary Ann Kristel Pangan grabbed the title for the best in regional costume.
Excitement grew further when the delegates elegantly wore their casual and formal outfits. The bests in casual wear are Tolentino and Pol Tammy Tapay of 2-A; Denfild Brian Azucena of 4-B and Jarina Alimagno of 4-C were the bests in formal wear.
After selecting five pairs of delegates, question and answer portion became the judges’ gauge in choosing who deserved to be the winners. Because of their outstanding charm and intelligence Tolentino and Alimagno were crowned Lakan and Lakambini 2007.
The other four pairs of finalists were Denfild Brian Azucena and Wella Jane Mata (first runner-up), John Chrysostom Pablo and Pol Tammy Tapay (second runner-up), Enrico Amante and Marielle Malihan (third runner-up), and Kelvin Cay Desamero and
Jem Czerah Palomiano (fourth runner-up).
Mr. Arnold Sinen, science coordinator in CLDDMNHS, Mrs. Rosalie Delos Tinos, Filipino teacher in SPCNHS-San Jose Annex, and Mrs. May Lyn Mojica, English teacher in the same school, served as the judges of the said beauty search.
On the same day, the Filipino department also conducted other competitions such as Harana ng Lahi, Katutubong Sayaw and Sabayang Pagbigkas. Winners were 4-A, seniors, and 3-A, respectively.
Speaking contest was also conducted last August 31. In Masining na Pagbigkas ng Tula, Patricia Dominique Comia of 1-A won first place, Czarinnah Yvonne Comia of the same year and section got second place, and Lemuel Martin Balbuena of 3-A won third place. In Pinaghandaang Talumpati, Czarinnah Comia bagged first place, Patricia Comia placed second and Janine Arana of 1-A placed third.
Mrs. Loyola M. Gatdula, Filipino coordinator, together with the support of other teachers, made this event a truly successful one.
